The U.S. Finally Reaffirms its Commitment to Meeting ICPD Goals

PAI worked closely with the U.S. delegation to the CPD both in advance of the meeting, and at the UN proceedings to help make the Commission's work and final resolution as strong and forward-looking as it could be. PAI cannot take credit, however, for the bold, progressive and truly inspiring language we find in Ms. Margaret Pollack's statement to the Commission. After eight years of bitter relations at the UN and an astonishing and embarrassing absence of leadership, organizations like PAI are heartened to see the U.S. take center stage again.
