Advocating for RH/HIV Integration at the Global and National Levels

This panel will highlight successful advocacy strategies and lessons from The Integration Partnership (TIP), led by PAI along with Family Care International and Friends of the Global Fund Africa. Panelists from Burkina Faso, Kenya and Zambia will share advocacy strategies, outcomes and next steps, and a representative of the Global Fund Secretariat will speak to opportunities for integration in the new funding model and collaboration with FP2020. PAI will moderate the interactive panel session.

Population and Sustainable Development Alliance (PDSA) Side-Event: Population, Family Planning and Sustainability Links: Voices from the South

This interactive panel will discuss population dynamics, reproductive health and sustainable development issues, from the perspectives of people from the Global South. Presenters from Ethiopia, Malawi and the Philippines will share experiences of integrating rights-based family planning services with environmental management approaches to meet a range of sustainable development needs.

Dollars and $ense: Budget Advocacy for Reproductive Health Satellite Session

Join PAI for a satellite session on Budget Monitoring and Expenditure Tracking (BMET) and budget advocacy for reproductive health. This breakfast session will promote information sharing and joint strategizing between organizations engaged in BMET and budget advocacy.

Technical and advocacy organizations are mobilizing funding from Southern governments’ budgets for reproductive health services, particularly family planning. With this focus on domestic resource mobilization comes a responsibility to understand opportunities within the budget process to increase allocations, and monitor budgets to ensure that funding is spent. Join Suzanna Dennis, Senior Research Associate at PAI, to find out more in this roundtable discussion.

This interactive session will allow implementing organizations to share on-the ground experiences and field based realities and will create an opportunity for US-based advocates to ask questions about policy implementation.
