Carolyn is responsible for bringing together PAI’s programmatic and operational work, organizational effectiveness, strategic and annual planning, and oversees finance and administration. She is active in organizational effectiveness forums and founded a peer network group of senior operations executives of international organizations. Prior to her role as COO, Carolyn served as PAI’s Vice President for Programs and Acting Director of the Research Department, where her work focused on reproductive health supplies, population and the environment, and donor financing innovations. Before PAI, she worked in program management and evaluation of USAID-funded family planning programs. Carolyn is a graduate of the University of Michigan and holds a master’s degree in public health from Columbia University. She also attended the University of Dakar in Senegal and served as a Peace Corps Nutrition Volunteer in Niger.
