Sarah oversees all functions of PAI’s development department, including board development, major gifts, and foundations. She helps shape and communicate PAI’s organizational narrative to donors while working with the board and senior staff members to implement the organization’s strategic plan. Sarah has over 18 years of experience as a development professional, and has raised tens of millions of dollars for progressive causes, with a focus on women’s issues and the environment. Prior to PAI, she served in a number of positions including the chief development officer at NARAL Pro Choice America, Director of Major Gifts at Defenders of Wildlife, and Executive Director at the Rivers Council of Washington in Seattle.  She has also served as an independent development consultant, and is a graduate of Middlebury College in Vermont.
